Description : The Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) was established by the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) in accordance with Republic Act 11524 or the "Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act." This framework outlines the use of coco levy funds to support programs that benefit coconut farmers and farm workers, aiming to raise their incomes, reduce poverty, and improve social equity and competitiveness.
The CFIDP includes national initiatives for social protection, farmer organization and development, applied research, community enterprises, and value-added processing of coconut and related products. It also covers implementation structures, coordination mechanisms, financial and risk management, and monitoring and evaluation.
As part of this initiative, the Department of Trade and Industry - Sultan Kudarat is tasked with executing plans for research, marketing, and promotion of coconut-based MSMEs.
