I. Background of the Item Being Procured
General Overview of the Procurement Project
As the University enhances its cybersecurity efforts, there is a need to be able to ensure that there are redundancies in certain parts of our core network. One of the components of our core network is the perimeter firewall (Palo Alto Networks PA-3430), which protects inbound and outbound traffic in the University. The goal is to have the firewall in high availability (HA) configuration, such that when one of the appliances go down for whatever reason, the other firewall would still be able to do its job providing uninterrupted service in the University. Thus, in order to achieve HA setup, another firewall of the same brand and model must be procured.

The budget for the project is nine million and five hundred thousand pesos (PhP 9,500,000.00)
