BACKGROUND

The National Broadband Program (NBP) is committed to accelerate the deployment of optical transport networks, efficient implementation of fiber backbone network and the establishment of a point of interconnection for the eighty-one regional fiber ring network nationwide to the broadband network. The objective is to establish the links that will distribute the broadband internet capacity in remote, underserved, and geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas throughout the country. The NBP aims to equip its personnel with drafting and planning tools for productivity and efficiency towards the establishment of a digital country.
