Description : I. BRIEF BACKGROUND :

Since the restart of Cruise Calls to the Philippines last February 2023, the DOT-NCR with the support of Office of Product and Market Development (OPMD) successfully welcomed a total of 36,172 Cruise arrival passengers with 24 Cruise Vessels docked in Manila Port Harbor for FY 2023. For FY 2024, DOT-NCR has welcomed a total of 45,820 passengers and crews at the end of December 2024.
In October 16, 2023, the Philippines has been chosen as the “Best Cruise Destination in Asia” at the World Cruise Awards in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, beating other countries in Asia. Indeed, this award signifies that there has been a remarkable development in the promotion of Cruise Tourism in the Philippines. Further, cruise ship arrivals in NCR can very well become a good source of quality high-spending tourists and contribute to increased tourism receipt
