Description : I. BRIEF BACKGROUND :

Since the resumption of cruise operations in February 2023, the Department of Tourism - National Capital Region (DOT-NCR), in partnership with the Office of Product and Market Development (OPMD), has recorded steady growth in cruise arrivals. In FY 2023, DOT-NCR welcomed 36,172 passengers and crew from 24 cruise vessels at the Manila Port. By the end of FY 2024, this number increased to 45,820. As of 2025, DOT-NCR has already received 23 cruise arrivals with 48,912 guests, with four more arrivals expected by year-end, reflecting the continued recovery and growth of cruise tourism in the region.
Furthermore, the Department of Tourism was a major partner and main sponsor of Seatrade Cruise Asia, held in Manila on November 12-13, 2024. The event gathered global cruise industry leaders and served as a strategic platform to promote the Philippines as a cruise-ready destination, strengthen partnerships, and encourage more cruise calls to the country.
