Description : I. BRIEF BACKGROUND :
Christmas Day and All Saints- Day, known locally as Pasko and Undas, are two of the most significant annual religious observances in the Philippines. These occasions are highly anticipated by Filipino families, with relatives from various parts of the world coming home to spend the holidays together.
Undas, observed starting on November 1, is a deeply rooted Filipino tradition that honors deceased loved ones. Similar to how All Saints- Day is celebrated in other predominantly Catholic countries like Mexico, Undas is a time for remembrance, prayer, and unique customs that help keep the memory of departed family members alive.
Meanwhile, Pasko or Christmas is the most cherished celebration in the country. With around 90% of the population identifying as Christian, and 80% of those as Catholic, Christmas plays a central role in Filipino culture.
