Description : BACKGROUND

In line with the Department of Tourism-s (DOT) continuous efforts to enhance and promote dive tourism in the Davao Region, the Department of Tourism-Region XI (DOT-XI), in collaboration with the Philippine Commission on Sports Scuba Diving (PCSSD), will conduct an Open Water Diving Certification Training on 25-30 November 2025 within Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental.

This initiative forms part of DOT-XI-s dive tourism development program, which aims to strengthen the capacities of stakeholders from potential dive destinations identified within the region. The activity seeks to equip participants with the essential knowledge and technical skills required for open water diving, ensuring safe and responsible engagement in underwater tourism activities.

Furthermore, the training supports the Department-s goal of fostering sustainable tourism practices by empowering local stakeholders to actively participate in dive site development, management, and conservation.
