Rehabilitation of Classroom Blackboards and Whiteboards
1. Objective:
To rehabilitate existing classroom blackboards and whiteboards in order to restore functionality, enhance visual clarity, and support effective teaching and learning activities.
2. Description of Work:
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
a. Pre-Work Assessment
• Conduct a site inspection of all blackboards and whiteboards scheduled for rehabilitation.
• Identify units that require:
o Surface refinishing or repainting
o Panel replacement
o Framing repair or replacement
o Re-mounting or alignment adjustments
b. Surface Rehabilitation
• For blackboards:
o Smoothen surfaces with sandpaper as needed
o Apply appropriate blackboard paint (non-glare, dust-resistant finish)
• For whiteboards:
o Clean and restore surfaces if reusable
o Replace stained or ghosting boards with new melamine, glass, or enamel steel surfaces
c. Framing and Mounting Repair
• Replace or repair damaged wooden/aluminum frames
