PROJECT: REGION 1 BIRDING CARAVAN
REQUIREMENT: Procurement for Ground Handling Services
I. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE
To advance the Department of Tourism Region 1's ongoing initiative to develop and promote
its established birdwatching tourism circuit, a region-wide birding caravan will be conducted
from April 4-9 2025. This will be staged in partnership with DENR- Region 1 as DOT-s long- standing partner in the Regional Ecotourism Committee in pursuing sustainable ecotourism
activities particularly in protected areas, while emphasizing on the importance of biodiversity
protection and preservation. Furthermore, the caravan facilitation will also be assisted by the
association of DOT Accredited specialist guides for birdwatching and Local Government
Units concerned. This event will showcase key birdwatching sites across Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan. The caravan will host bird enthusiasts, regional and national professionals, and conservation advocates. The objectives are to introduce the region's diverse birding
