While the coconut industry holds significant economic value, numerous coconut farmers throughout the region continue to encounter difficulties, resulting in the sector-s marginalization and limited access to the interventions.

The government implemented the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) as an important policy initiative to address the demand for comprehensive support. The primary objective of the CFIDP is to effectively tackle the difficulties encountered by coconut farmers, improve their means of living, and make a valuable contribution to the holistic advancement of the coconut sector. DTI Laguna, in line with its function and role, is responsible for the Research, Marketing, and Market Promotion sub-program of CFIDP and has actively undertaken its implementation to promote sustainability and economic advancement among coconut producers in the region.
