BACKGROUND AND PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Western Visayas is a dynamic region rapidly solidifying its standing as a highly competitive Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination in the Philippines. The region's strength lies in its diverse offerings: it is anchored by the infrastructure and convention facilities of Iloilo City, boasts the internationally recognized incentive and event capacity of Boracay Island as a premier go-to MICE location, and includes Capiz Province as an emerging hub ready for specialized events.
The Department of Tourism Region VI have initiated establishing three (3) MICE Alliances in the region, namely Iloilo MICE Alliance, Bacolod MICE Group, Boracay MICE Alliance and MICE Alliance of Capiz, to work on the strengthening of MICE promotion in the respective areas. These alliances are composed of the private tourism stakeholders and Local Government Units of Iloilo City, Malay, Aklan and Province of Capiz.
