Software must enable the end-user to design optical systems based on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Catalog lenses and/or customized lenses, optimize the lens shape and thicknesses, tolerance the lenses, analyze the aberrations, evaluate the modulation transfer function (MTF), analyze the color focus shift, check the spot diagram, simulate the resulting image, integrate lens design into CAD drawings and ANSYS Mechanical.
