Description : I. RATIONALE

The procurement of a computerized polygraph system, including all its components and peripherals, is a critical step in enhancing the instructional delivery of forensic and investigative courses under the Bachelor of Science in Criminology program of Universidad de Manila. The system will enable students to gain experiential learning in credibility assessment techniques, particularly in the psychophysiological detection of deception (PDD). This supports the development of key investigative competencies aligned with industry standards. In accordance with CHED Memorandum Order No. 5, Series of 2018, criminology programs must provide adequate laboratory equipment and practical training facilities to ensure competency-based instruction. Additionally, the availability and utilization of such specialized forensic instruments respond to the ALCUCOA accreditation criteria on learning resources, instructional facilities, and the application of outcomes-based education.
