Description : Scope of the Project:

1. To explore the sub-surface conditions of the area to provide general data relating to the project.

2. To carry out Field Standard Penetration Test (SPT-63.5kg hammer having a free fall of 760mm) in order to determine the natural bearing resistance of the sub-soil for the purpose of design in accordance to ASTM D1586 as “Standard Method of Penetration Test and Split Barrel Sampling of Soils”

3. To obtained disturbed and undisturbed soil samples for carrying out the laboratory tests in order to determine the natural and relevant physical properties of the sub-soil pertaining to the site for the purpose design. Undisturbed soil samples will be taken whenever it is possible.

4. To give an outline of the surface and subsoil geology.

5. To analyze the data obtained and give Engineering Consideration and recommendation on the section and design of foundation.

6. To describe the process/stages of work to be followed for the conduct of sub-soil explorations and determination of engineering properties of the soil.
