- The Pacific Open Learning Health Net (POLHN) supported continuous professional development for health professionals from Pacific Island Countries (PICs) by providing quality learning products and services to address the geographical and resource barriers unique to the Pacific. POLHN aimed to bridge health education gaps and strengthen local institutions by developing a broad portfolio of courses varying in focus, duration, award, and authorship. Since its establishment in 2003, thousands of health professionals have been trained on the online learning platform through various degree programmes. POLHN was temporarily closed in 2022 and is now to be revitalised as requested by Member States through a collaboration between WHO Academy and WPRO. Its next phase (2025-2029) will further integrate a competency-based approach, advanced technologies, and innovative learning approaches through a deepened collaboration with WHO Academy. Against this background, WHO WPRO seeks a supplier to support developing, updating, and integrating selected POLHN courses and programs into the WHO Academy Learning Experience Platform (LXP).
