The Department of Health (DOH) requires all water samples shall be examined only by a DOH-accredited laboratory and adhere to the standard values set by Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW) 2017/AO 2017-0010 a guideline for safely drinking water.
The accredited Laboratory must observe the underlying testing method for water samples:
1. Multiple Tube Fermentation Technique (MTFT) Total Coliform (MPN/100ml)
2. Thermotolerant Coliform / E. Coli. (MPN/100ml)
3. Heterotrophic Plate Count (CFU/ml)
