In support of the Philippine Halal Export Development and Promotion Program under Republic Act No. 10817, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) seeks to enable micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country to become Halal-certified. This initiative aligns with the national goal of promoting the competitiveness of Philippine Halal products in both domestic and international markets.
Halal certification ensures that products conform to the strict quality, safety, and ethical standards required by Islamic law, and are suitable for Muslim and non-Muslim consumers alike. The additional Food and Drug Administration (FDA) certification complements Halal certification by further assuring that the products are safe for consumption.
By providing technical support and certification assistance to MSMEs, this project aims to strengthen their market access and competitiveness, especially in the growing Halal market worldwide."
