- The proposed activity would support the preparation of needs assessment, the roadmap for fleet modernization, and design a pilot for decarbonization of the Inter-Island ferry transport in the Philippines. The activities would include, but not limited to, gap analysis to understand governance, route coverage, the franchising system, energy efficiency and emissions reductions from operations and maintenance of the domestic inter-island ferry transport routes in the Philippines. The activity is a critical step to guide the fleet modernization program necessary to provide reliable and safe maritime connectivity while contributing to GHG emissions reduction.
