Description:
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to enter into a contractual agreement with a successful bidder and select a suitable contractor to To provide technical support using COVID-19 epidemic modelling in countries in the Western Pacific Region. Specifically, to conduct training and develop different scenario models for public health ministries in Malaysia, the Philippines and Viet Nam to understand and apply models to inform public health policy and decision-making. BACKGROUNDSince December 2019 COVID-19 has impacted the region immensely, with over 202 million cases and over 410 thousand deaths as of 1 May 2023. Ministries of Health in many countries need to further develop disease surveillance to guide future decision making. This requires a surveillance system to monitor COVID-19 using multiple sources of information to improve understanding of the potential impacts of the variants on the epidemiology, severity and effectiveness of public health and social measures.
