Description : RATIONALE

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), with the assistance from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), has conducted a nationwide survey on Care Economy-related ordinances issued by local government units (LGUs). The survey seeks to determine the number of LGUs with policies and relevant programs/projects addressing care concerns of their respective constituencies on care work. It hopes to gather substantial data on local ordinances and efforts towards raising awareness of the public to recognize, reduce, and redistribute unpaid care and domestic work (UCDW). It also hopes to identify best practices and initiatives that deliver accessible, affordable, and quality care services to children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and other dependent groups.
