The Philippines, as one of the 18 mega-biodiverse countries of the world, supported by many ecosystems, landscapes, and habitats, is greatly threatened by human activities. The rich biodiversity is being lost due to deforestation, habitat destruction, climate change, pollution, overexploitation of species, and the introduction of alien species. The impacts of biodiversity loss are far-reaching. It not only threatens the survival of species but also adversely affects the delivery of ecosystem services that are vital for sustainable development.With years of experience advocating and implementing innovative natural resources management interventions in the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region, UNDP is developing a project to address the problems of declining biodiversity and adverse impacts of climate change through innovative and holistic solutions that will go beyond biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation and mitigation leading to sustained ecosystem services delivery and increase in community resilience.The project is expected ...
