Description: BACKGROUNDRegional Office for the Western Pacific has been working with country offices in the preparedness and response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On 30 January, WHO declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). On 11 March, the WHO Director General characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic.Reporting to the IMST Incident Manager, and under the leadership of the Operations Support and Logistics pillar lead, the incumbent is accountable for providing advisory and logistics support throughout the full cycle of the emergency in the Western Pacific Region. The Regional stockpile in Manila is dispatching life-saving and critical supplies to support health care workers and clinical management at national and sub-national levels throughout the Region. The COVID-19 response operations in the Region are expected to continue for several months.
