To achieve the long-term goal of sustainable development in Northern Mindanao, the Department of Tourism Region 10 (DOT-10) plans to spearhead a Local Sustainable Development Planning and Capacity-Building Program among its tourism stakeholders. The program aims to provide an opportunity for key tourism players to discuss recurring challenges in the tourism industry. Over the years, the region has faced challenges in tourism planning and destination management. The regional office identifies the need to establish strategic directions that focus on sustainable policymaking, management, and product development for the region. This approach must consider disaster risk reduction, sustainability plans, marketing projects, communication strategies, and community engagement programs.
The results and input become the basis for policy formulation, activities, and projects that form part of the Northern Mindanao Tourism Development Plan (NMTDP).
