CLOUD COMPUTING SUBSCRIPTION FOR PUBLIC WEB APPLICATIONS AND DISASTER RESILIENCY OF LGU SYSTEMS AND DATA
Rationale:
The Information and Communication Technology Office (ICTO) of the Local Government Unit of the Municipality of Bayambang, Pangasinan (LGU-Bayambang) is tasked to develop, implement, maintain and enhance various information systems relative to the needs of the LGU. However, development, implementation, maintenance and security of web-based applications require full-time network and infrastructure engineers and credible data center facilities that the LGU currently does not have.

The LGU-Bayambang started cloud computing subscription in 2023 using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Cloud computing allows an organization to acquire the capabilities while allowing an organization of renown competency and capability to manage the maintenance and security of the computing and network infrastructure through a subscription model, with the LGU only acquiring the capabilities, features, and quantity it needs.
